Name: Apprentice - Aircraft Maintenance Technician

Status: Full Time

Summary of Job: This position is a starting point for a career path that will lead you toward your FAA Issued Airframe and Power Plant license. The Aircraft Maintenance Technician Apprentice position is a 30-36 month apprenticeship. Responsibilities include and are not limited to assisting with aircraft maintenance, inspections, and aircraft avionics duties. BAC will provide all training for this position.

Job Requirements: • Assist with performing quality checks and routine maintenance activities on airframe and powerplant systems on General Aviation Aircraft. • Assist with repair order maintenance and avionics activities associated with General Aviation Aircraft. • Aircraft Washing and Detailing. • Responsible for the movement, tugging, and wing walking aircraft. • Be pro-active and take initiative to walk around every aircraft that leaves the shop to look for pilot pre-flight items, cleanliness and other visual details that need to be completed. • Produce written documents in English with clearly organized thoughts using proper sentence construction, punctuation, and grammar. • Ability to write routine reports and correspondence. • This position will be required to assist with equipment, building, and grounds maintenance, including and not limited to, janitorial, washing equipment, snow removal, building maintenance, and yard work. • Be cognoscente of where you are spending your time and bill your time on a work order where appropriate. Seek daily guidance from your supervisor. • Receive Training to operate Avionics Test Equipment. • Other Duties as Assigned

Skill Requirements: • High School Diploma • Previous hands on mechanical experience required. • Passion and mechanical interest required. • Detail Oriented and have strong organizational skills. • Prioritization and time management skills. • Good communication skills and team focus. • MS Office Proficiency. • Work with minimal supervision. • Move objects weighing 50 pounds or less. • Remain in a standing position for extended periods of time. • Ability to work in confined spaces. • Work in a variety of weather conditions with exposure to the elements. • Preferred Flightline or FBO experience.

Additional Requirements: • Background Check. • Pre-employment drug and alcohol testing required. • 40+ hours/week (hours of operation may fluctuate depending on seasonal demand). • EOE.
